Pinoys watching the
episode of ABS-CBN's "Harapan" enjoyed this segment
very much wherein Abalos
grabbed the opportunity
to promote their
restaurant on national
TV. The amusing
part is that Abalos
referred to their
hamburgers as 'hamburjers'.
In fairness to him, this
was how the term was
really pronounced by
many Pinoys in the
mid-70's, before the era
of McDo and
Jollibee in the country.
Furthermore, the main
reason Pinoys took
notice of his plugging
is because of his
pronunciation, so if it
was a deliberate ploy to
amuse his audience, the
trick worked magically!
Indeed, we are now aware
of the Abalos 'hamburjers'. |
